New Building of a Wastewater Treatment Plant

Characteristics:

  • Connecting size: 220,000 PE
  • Dry weather flow: Qt = 2,260 m³/h
  • Stormwater Flow: Qtm= 4,430 m³/h

Scope of Work:

  • Detailed design
  • Implementation planning
  • Compilation of Tender Documents

Description:

In Bursa already two local WWTPs are in operation. Now another WWTP that handles the waste water to a major part from the industry is supposed to be constructed. The industrial part in the waste water that leads to a strong colouring of the waste water conducts approx. 70 %. The WWTP Bursa is designed for a connection size of approx. 220,000 P.E. The mechanical stage consists of a screening, an aerated grit chamber and primary sedimentation. The mechanically treated waste water is cleaned biologically in a two line developed activated sludge plant. The biological stage is designed to carbon- and nutrient removal. For nitrogen removal the procedure of the pre-connected denitrification is planned. In order to clean the industrial waste water completely a downstream chemical/biological stage is designated. The waste water is handled here in an ozon plant and then in an aerobic biological fixed bed. The excess sludge is thickened in the primary sedimentation, drained by machines and afterwards led to thermal treatment or disposal on landfills.

The construction area is on difficult ground, therefore the buildings are set up on piles.
