On basic of the results of long-term semi-technical experiments for the fixed bed and aeration process several basic solutions for reconstruction and extension of the biological step have been identified. As the result of extended comparision an otimised solution has been developed which meets the specific conditions in the City of Dresden and which finaly has been realised.

Actually the new construction of the biological step which one-step aeration process with pre-connected denitrification is on the way. Additionally a central engine room as well as a central control room in a seperate building are constructed.
