Description:

Due to high market prices for electrical energy and additional funding by the German CHP-regulation the client Mainova was assessing the optimization of the current steam processing of the co-generation power plant HKW Nordweststadt.

Aim of the engineering scope of work was to obtain an overall optimized plant conception by use of synergy effects for the co-generation power plant as well as for the waste-to-energy plant Nordweststadt operated by Mainova AG.

The technical solution for the optimization was the use of the entire steam generated in the waste-to-energy plant in a new installed extraction condensing turbine with air condenser.

Momentarily the project is in the realization phase.
